As earlier mentioned in our previous report on the disengagement of several of the industry big name by the Telecommunication, Globacom, the company have announced the signing of earlier disengaged MTN ambassador, DM Records general, Timaya as the new ambassador of the renowned Telecommunication company.
According to the message from the company headquarter, the rapper was signed due to his strides in the showbiz industry and his "role model" position to the people of the Niger-Delta area.
"Timaya was made a Glo ambassador because of his success in the music industry and for being an inspiration to millions of Nigerian youths, especially in the South-South part of the country where he is popularly known as the Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa."
Some media think otherwise as they believe that the company were able to sign the singer because he accepted to go for the lower pay. Due to the economic recession, artist such as Wizkid who asked for bigger pay was disengaged.
