The Headies Organizers have their ass whipped once more by one of the industry top name as he slams them for fielding wack nominees list for the 2016 edition of the award.
Clarence Peters as he is called, one of the industry best music video cinematographer, a son to fuji music legend Sir Shina Peters, took to his instagram page to make a mess of the nominees released for the 2016 Headies "Best Music Video".
In a year that these men gave us some of the most amazing visual interpretations mainly Darey's "Pray for me" by @mexemania & Kiss Daniel's "Jombo" by @ajefilmswork works, respectfully, it breaks my heart that The Headies don't deem it fit to recognize their outstanding work. To my brothers: from Dir Q, to @adasacookey to Frizzle&Bizzle, from Gambit to LA, from Matt Max to Avalon to TOSIN IGHO, SESAN to MOE to MEJI etc .... We know what we put in. Awards don't define us, WE DEFINE POPULAR CULTURE not just in Nigeria, but across the continent, so I salute you all.
Though he was one of the nominee, but without being sentimental, he think there are some directors that merit to be nominated due to their outstanding works within the months in review for the award, pinpointing director Mex work in Darey's "Pray For me" and Aje Films work master shot in Kiss Daniel's "Jombo".
This claim and criticism further crack down the credibility of the Headies Award and the organisers, taking us back to similar claim by several artist during last year "Next Rated Act" feud, generalizing that the award organizers are sentimental and tribalistic in their judges.
Clarence Peters was nominated alongside Banky W, Unlimited L.A, Sesan and Meji Alabi for the 2016 Headies "Best Music Video", award for video directors.
